It's Back: CCHS Class of 1970 - 40th Reunion

We met last week for the 1st time to discuss plans for the 40th Reunion, in 2010

The next and future meetings are at the high school.

Next is Nov. 18th Wed at 7:00 pm; ALL are welcome. Go in the rear entrance near the cafeteria, and go straight down the hallway to a conference room on the right (across from the auditorium entrance), at 7pm

Dr. John, Dorina, Judi (Prettyman) Diepold, Mike Sinclair, Joe Alibrando, Pat (Tish) Corbett and myself were at the 1st meeting. Pete Perno was out of town on business, but should be at the next meeting. Jane Sirna and Linda Shilling have offered to help out - thanks!

We are leaning toward a hotel site so folks can get a room and stay the night. The last hotel reunion was the 20th Reunion, and we had a 'hospitality' suite afterwards. Friday night will probably be the night, since weddings take up the Saturdays, and are double the expense.

The weekend of Columbus Day-2010 is being discussed. Let us know if that is a conflict with any plans you may have next year.

We discussed:

• Drinks: 2 free drink tickets, beer and wine only w/ byob, cash bar, or open bar (with reduced, negotiated prices?)
• Sit down dinner or buffet.
• Dress: not formal, but business attire, business casual, or casual.
• Mailings usually don't go out until May and July, so we are trying to see how many we can reach early on via email, and word of mouth.
• We have 100 email addresses and another 60 people registered at http://www.classmates.com/
• The other 240 people are via mail only - we would like to know how many of these are still in touch with you?
• We are looking at the Quality Inn-Versailles Conference Center in Maple Shade, where Rt73 and Rt38 meet.
• Last reunion we invited teachers and their spouses (or guest), at no charge. Only one attended. A few others would have attended, except for conflicts in their schedule.
• A Summer reunion was dismissed due to vacation conflicts, and a Thanksgiving weekend reunion was not considered due to children returning home from school etc.
• I sent Craigslist a suggestions for a "Reunion" category.
• Inviting Class of 1969 (but not being responsible for notifications, mailing lists etc)
• I re-activated the blog at http://www.cchsclassof70.blogspot.com/
• MaryJane (Hendrickson) Taulane is active on "Facebook" and has a CCHS "page" or "group"
  

You are welcome and encouraged to attend the next Reunion meeting. You can make suggestions, give feedback or just sit in for the fun! Next Wed., Nov. 18th, at 7pm, AT THE HIGH SCHOOL, in the conference room down the hall from the cafeteria.

Even if you don't attend, let us know:

• Of conflicts for Friday, Columbus Day weekend next year
• Who you are in touch with via email. (this is important as people are moving, retiring, and changing email providers/employers - we don't have time to track down 'missing' people anymore - some of our contact info is "in care of" a sibling or parent)
• Thoughts on any of the above mentioned details.
• Any other suggestions...ideas ....

THE FABULOUS CROCE BROTHERS BAND

performing Wed., Nov 25th, at Pinsetters Bowling Alley and Lounge (previously "Maple Bowl")on Maple Ave in Pennsauken

Remo's band is playing in Pennsauken on Wednesday, November 25th, the night before Thanksgiving:
The Fabulous Croce Brothers Band wil be at Pinsetter Bar & Bowl, (the old Maple Bowl) on Maple Avenue. The band features Remo on percussion, Stephen Croce (Class of '76) as lead vocals and Sam Croce (Class of 2007) on drums. They should start around 8:30 and end about 12:00.
